United Methodist Women

UMW fellowship has been making encounters since 1869.

For more than a century, women in the Methodist traditions have led a struggle for human rights and social justice. The generation of women who founded the early missionary societies that were to become United Methodist Women developed powerful networks and organizational structures to help women attain full participation in the life of the church and society. The mission was...and still is...to make life better for women, children, youth, and marginalized neighbors in our world. AND, of course, to form friendships and grow faith as well! Join us. It is WORTH it!

United Methodist Women’s Vision
Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.Women are a FORCE
Our Wesley United Methodist Women are directly connected to our Vermilion River District sisters, the Illinois Great Rivers Conference women, and ultimately to national and worldwide UMW Fellowship. We are hundreds of strong women of faith. That’s a powerful force. We use that force to assist women and children who need our support.

Through individual pledges and group fund-raising, Wesley UMW supports worldwide, national, district, and local missions. 2017 mission and love gifts totaled $28,134. Those gifts have been used to empower women and children in need and used where it can best serve.

How UMW Serves | How You Can Get Involved
Wesley UMW co-sponsors the annual rummage sale, serves funeral meals, cooks and distributes casserole meals to new mothers and shut-ins, and hosts the biannual Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration.

We are there when other women need support or a boost up.
