United Methodist Women (UMW)
We are selling Hershey bar snowmen and elves for $3.00 to raise money for Our Conference Our Kids! You can also donate snowmen to Home Sweet Home Mission and The Salvation Army. Our hope is to have enough donations to provide a candy bar snowman to every person at these two shelters on Christmas Day.
ORDER YOUR HERSHEY BAR ELVES AND SNOWMEN HERE!
We are always accepting offerings to the UMW for the many projects we work on. This is a wonderful way to show your support and make the things we do possible! Please write UMW in the subject line when making this offering. Thank you!
Sunday, Sept. 19 is UMW Sunday!
The United Methodist Women
We are women of purpose, vision, faith and mission. Through our work and financial support we make a positive difference to many here in our community and around the globe. The United Methodist Women’s Purpose is To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church
The UMW Vision
Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world
Women Are A Force
Our Wesley United Methodist Women are directly connected to our Vermillion Valley River District sisters, the women of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference, and ultimately to national and worldwide UMW Fellowship. We are hundreds of strong women of faith, a powerful force, and we use that force to assist women and children who need our support. Through individual pledges and group fundraising, Wesley UMW supports worldwide, national, district and local missions. In 2020 our mission and love gifts totaled $22,134! Those gifts are being used to empower women and children in need, in places where they can best serve.
Three times each year Wesley UMW hosts fellowship events which include a meal, an inspirational program/speaker and fellowship. Join us on September 21 at 6:00 pm in Wesley Hall for “The Seven Pillars of Self Care” presented by Catherine Porter, Executive Director of the Carle Health and Fitness Center. Reservations may be made today in the Garden Room and the cost is $10. We welcome all who wish to attend.
