Vaughn Hoffman, Directing Minister
The Reverend Vaughn Hoffman is a native of central Illinois and has degrees from Illinois State University and the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. In 2011, he was recognized by his alma mater as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Outstanding Contributions to Parish Ministry. Ordained in 1982, Vaughn has served churches in Colorado and Illinois before coming to Wesley UMC as its Senior Pastor in 2004.
In addition to his pastoral work, Vaughn has served as adjunct faculty at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. He has been active in leadership in the Annual Conference, serving on numerous commissions and boards, including a term as chairperson of the Annual Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Illinois Wesleyan University.
He is married to Lori Esenwein Hoffman, who teaches mathematics at Heartland Community College in Normal. Together they have two adult sons, Nicholas and Neil. In his spare time, Vaughn enjoys distance running, bicycling and fly-fishing. Lori is a runner also and enjoys cross-stitching and quilting.
